LEGACY PHILOSOPHY

Legacy travel softball is different from any other recreational or travel softball experience that we are aware of. Our organization is sponsored by the San Diego Legacy Girl's Softball Organization; we are committed to supporting individuals and organizations that are committed to the values of Faith, Family, and Friendship.

Team prayer and community service are incorporated into and are an integral part of the success of our program. We are committed to playing softball the Legacy Way!!!

The Legacy coaches are committed to stressing "fun"damentals in a "positive" practice and game environment. All we ask of the girls is focus and commitment when we step "between the lines". There is no substitute for hard work and we will expect no less from each of the girls. As coaches we are committed to providing high quality instruction in a well-planned and positive practice and game environment. Each player will be a better person and a better player for having been part of Legacy.

Friendship is also important to us. Practices and games will be balanced with social outings and events that will allow the players and families to bond away from the softball field. A good TEAM is only developed through TIME. TIME together on and off the field. The highest compliment paid to our program is that you can never tell by looking into our dugout whether we are winning or losing. Our players stay focused throughout the game and never give up until the game is over. This is because of the bond that each player shares with each of her teammates. Together the girls accomplish more than their individual athletic capabilities would otherwise allow.

Player selection to the Legacy team is not based on any one thing, but a collection of the traits and qualities needed to develop a competitive softball team; speed, agility, motivation to play, positive attitude, commitment to the Legacy Way, physical condition, strength, softball skills, previous softball experiences, and availability to attend practices and tournaments.
